Admission Requirements

In addition to a completed application, the following are additional admission requirements:
 
  • Provide a Current Resume to include:
    • Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience
    • Minimum of two years of successful leadership experience
    • Minimum of Three Professional References
  • A Texas teaching certificate
  • A Masters Degree is required before completion of the program. If participants do not have a Master's Degree, one can be obtained through Walden University at a discounted rate.

  • Official Transcript from a regionally accredited university with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of a 3.00.  (a)  3.00 on all coursework previously attempted at an accredited IHE or (b) 3.00 in the last 60 semester credit hours on all coursework previously attempted at an accredited IHE.
  • Criminal Background Check - Please be advised that a criminal history may render an applicant ineligible for certification. Applicants have the right to request a Preliminary Criminal History evaluation from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) at any time.
  • Interview
